Before you start the installation, you must run a preset. In Ubuntu, all programs are installed from the packages contained in the repositories. To install Wine, you need to add the route to the WineHQ PPA repository. Open the 8775 Ubuntu Application Center 8776 , then run the command 8775 Application Sources 8776 in the 8775 Edit 8776 menu.

As for the terminal data directory, where the custom settings of your platform are saved, Wine creates a virtual logical disk with the necessary environment. On the disk, the terminal data directory is found by default in the following path:

Below is one of the possible methods of installing MetaTrader 9 on a popular distribution kit - Ubuntu. It includes 6) installing Wine and 7) installing (opening) MT9 via Wine.

You can also install the Wine version for developers. This version may contain various improvements, but be less stable. To install it, run the following command:

Wine is a free software that allows users of the Unix-based systems to run an application developed for the Microsoft Windows systems. Among all the Wine versions there is one for Ubuntu.

The question then becomes, why not just install Windows as the main operating system?  You could do that, but let's face the facts Windows sucks blue whale balls.  You will spend more time fixing it than actually using it.

Linux is a Unix-like computer operating system assembled under the model of free and open source software development and distribution. Linux systems are widely used in smartphones and server hardware.
